QRdx vs ME-QR
ME-QR gives away dynamic QR codes and shows ads to the people who scan them. QRdx's static and dynamic codes are ad-free on every plan.

Pricing, design options and developer tooling side by side. Where ME-QR is ahead, the table says so.
Why choose QRdx over ME-QR?
The areas where QRdx is the stronger pick. The guide below also covers where ME-QR is the better choice.
Your scanners never see ads
ME-QR's free plan lists all codes as carrying ads, and its FAQ says visitors may see a short ad before your content after the first 10 scans. QRdx codes open your content directly.
Straight to your content
QRdx static codes open your content directly, with no account to keep active. QRdx dynamic codes redirect straight to your destination, with no ads or interstitials, on every plan.
Developer-first
QRdx has a REST API, an MCP server and an npm package with React components and TypeScript types. ME-QR is a hosted web app.
Open source
QRdx is AGPL-3.0 licensed and self-hostable. ME-QR is closed source.
QRdx or ME-QR: which should you use?
ME-QR and QRdx take opposite approaches to "free". ME-QR's free plan is generous with dynamic codes (up to 10,000 created, with analytics and a year of history) and pays for it with ads: its pricing page lists free codes as "with ads", and its FAQ says the first 10 scans are ad-free, after which visitors may see a short advertisement before your content. QRdx is free with no ads at all: static codes open your content directly, and its dynamic codes (10 on the Free plan) redirect straight to your destination.
Who each tool is for
ME-QR fits people who want editable codes and scan statistics without paying, and who are comfortable with ads appearing for their audience. Its paid Lite plan includes one ad-free code; Premium removes ads from all codes.
QRdx fits anyone printing codes for customers, guests or clients who should land on the content immediately, and developers who want to generate codes inside their own product.
Where ME-QR is the better choice
- You need thousands of editable codes for free, and ads are acceptable. ME-QR's free plan allows up to 10,000; QRdx Free includes 10.
- You want a huge frame library: ME-QR advertises 1,000+ frame options, including holiday themes. QRdx has six templates.
Key differences
- Ads: ME-QR's free codes can show ads to scanners. QRdx never does.
- Code model: ME-QR codes are dynamic and resolve through ME-QR. QRdx offers both: static codes that need no service, and dynamic codes that redirect without ads on every plan.
- Design: QRdx gives separate control over 9 body patterns, 9 eye shapes and 11 eye-dot shapes with linear and radial gradients. ME-QR offers dotted and shaped codes, logos and a large frame catalog.
- Openness: QRdx is open source (AGPL-3.0) with an npm package.
Switching from ME-QR
- Leave existing ME-QR codes in place; they redirect through ME-QR, so deleting them or the account breaks printed codes.
- For new codes, design them in the QRdx playground. Point static codes straight at your destination, or create a dynamic code in the dashboard if you need to change it later.
- Test every printed code on a few phones.

Move from ME-QR to QRdx
- 1
ME-QR has no export: list Name, QR link and Destination URL for each code in a spreadsheet.
- 2
Upload the CSV to Dashboard → Codes → Import and check the column mapping.
- 3
Preview and import. Download the mapping CSV of old link → new QRdx link.
Printed codes
ME-QR codes live on ME-QR's own domain, so QRdx can't change them: re-point each one to its new QRdx link (the mapping CSV lists them) and keep that account active until you reprint.
